Lot of more than sixty (60) pieces. Archive of autograph letters, deeds and documents from the estate of Alice B. George, daughter-in-law of Revolutionary War Captain William George. The George family were landowners and operated a crossroads tavern in Goochland County, Virginia. This lot includes depositions regarding ownership of slaves as well as ledgers recording customers’ names and purchases of a large variety of goods. Mixed ALS, DS. Very good condition.
