French alarm pocket watch, ca. 1850, by Antoine Redier, inventor of the mechanical alarm clock. Silver case, hinged front and back, size 17, key wound and set. Dust cover engraved “No. 113, Redier, Succ’r de Duchemin, Place du Chatelet, 2.” Back of case marked “17694, 27.” White enamel dial with Roman numerals, subdial and keyholes for winding and setting alarm. Movement unmarked. Very good condition. Runs and keeps time. Alarm functional. Hairline upper left of dial.
