A Shin Gunto. Dated on tang to May, 1944.The tsuka is either replaced or a late war last ditch modification. Synthetic rayskin-style wrapping on tsuka, which is a screw-based type three mount from the Second World War. Blade is 27.75 inches. Very good, original condition.
