1994

Born from Adventure

John Whitworth, a US Navy veteran (USS Forrestal CV-59), salesman, and adventurer, opens a travel agency in Tallahassee, Fla. That business would become Affiliated Auctions.

1998

The Titstater

John Whitworth discovers the second known titstater, an incredibly rare Romano-Celtic coin. The coin's sale at auction provides the impetus for the company to change focus from travel to treasure.

2000s

Digital Vanguard

Affiliated Auctions is on the scene in the early days of e-commerce, hosting one of the first live auctions on eBay.

2009

A Ring Fit For a King

Lloyd Perry of Asheville, North Carolina received the ring as a gift from Elvis Presley on July 24, 1975. Affiliated Auctions sold the ring at auction for a record $107,500.

2010s

Now Taking Bids From Anywhere

Affiliated Auctions begins publishing catalogs across several of the web's most popular live auction platforms. Today, our auctions reach tens of thousands of collectors around the world.

2011

Affiliated Auctions Featured on History Channel's American Pickers

Mike and Frank from American Pickers stop by our Tallahassee gallery, calling on auctioneer John Whitworth for help appraising artifacts from the Second World War.

2012

WWII Authority

Affiliated Auctions sells the collection of Ed Tovrea (a POW involved in The Great Escape), cementing its reputation as a major dealer of WWII memorabilia.

2017

Family Legacy

John Whitworth's daughter, Kathleen Bouchi, joins the family business in an official capacity, having practically grown up in the auction house.

2022

The Bell of the Santa Maria

Affiliated Auctions is enlisted to find a buyer for a bell from Christopher Columbus's flagship, the Santa Maria.

2025

New Generation

Kathleen Bouchi takes over as auctioneer full time, supported by a team of specialists with academic training in history, archaeology and anthropology.
